Last night the State Liquor Authority suspended our license. We are now closed until further notice. Please sign the petition fighting the unreasonable and useless law requiring customers to order food with their beverages! We will let you know when we reopen! Till then, enjoy the rest of your Summer!
Well, we made it through an entire month! And NYC’s numbers remain low, so hopefully we’re good for the rest of the “Open Streets” outdoor drinking and dining arrangement through the end of October! But it hasn’t been without stress and strain. The rules seem to change daily. The news from around the country is daunting. And this virus isn’t going anywhere. So if you do decide to visit us, please be respectful and follow the rules:
• Wear a mask when ordering and when using the restroom.
• Please REMAIN SEATED while enjoying your adult beverage.
• ONLY sit with people you know.
• Maintain social distancing.
• Don’t be a dick!
We are super happy to be open! But it is exhausting functioning during a global pandemic. We’re constantly concerned about everyone’s health!
Your humble narrator is circulating a petition to fight Governor Cuomo’s law that mandates bars and restaurants require their customers order food with each alcoholic beverage. This is an unreasonable rule, placing a huge burden on bars that aren’t set up for full meal service. So many places have already closed for good. Don’t let it happen to YOUR favorite spot! Our nose is pressed so hard against the proverbial grindstone that Lucky’s Four Year Anniversary slipped right past us. In "normal" times, we would've been hosting an open bar with catered food to thank our army of loyal regulars. But since we aren't really gathering like that, we can offer a free shot or beer to those who stop by. If you see your humble narrator -- let's say over the next week or so -- she'd be happy to hook you up! Maybe a PBR or a shot of Jameson?
Burning Man Happy Hour has returned for their "in person" non-Zoom Wednesday gathering. Their first event was super chill, with 100% protocol adherence and reservation making. It's an easy crew since they really understand both safety AND danger. If YOU’D like to hold a small, safe gathering, please get in touch to book a table out back! Since it’s summer, there's always a chance of thunderstorms and rain, so be sure to bring your umbrella. We’ve ordered a couple big ones for the yard and they should arrive any day.
